Introduction to PAPT-B02 Air Permeability Tester

The Air Permeability Tester is mainly a professional testing instrument used to detect materials with high gas

permeability. The detection of gas permeability in such materials is called Permeability testing. The air permeability

tester is very suitable for foam plastics, leather, textiles, paper, cardboard, porous ceramics and other materials with

high air permeability. For certain specific fields, it is necessary to quantify the permeability of gases to these materials,

and the permeability testing of materials is a very important monitoring method. For example, the appropriate choice

of Permeability for cigarette paper directly affects the appearance of cigarettes, the smell of cigarettes, and the content

of smoke components; The control of textile Permeability is a key factor that directly affects the comfort of clothing wearing.

For specific gas permeability testing of materials with certain gas barrier properties, it is necessary to use a permeability

tester to complete the test. The Air Permeability Tester is mainly used to test materials with high barrier properties, most

of which are high molecular weight polymers or multi-layer composite materials made of high molecular weight

polymers, such as plastic films, composite films, aluminum plated films, aluminum-plastic composite films, or paper plastic

composite films.

Fabric breatha bility: The determination of fabric Permeability in China is mainly based on the standard GB/T 5453 "

Determination of Permeability of Textile Fabrics". This standard is applicable to various textile fabrics, including industrial

fabrics, non-woven fabrics, and other breathable textile products. The air permeability of fabrics refers to the ability of air

to pass through them. Identify the rate at which airflow passes vertically through the specimen under specified test area,

pressure drop, and time conditions. The specific testing principle is described in the standard: under specified pressure

differential conditions, measure the airflow rate passing vertically through a given area of the sample for a certain period

of time, and calculate the air permeability. The airflow rate can be directly measured or converted by measuring the pressure

difference on both sides of the flow aperture.

Paper Permeability: The Permeability of paper can generally be tested using a Air Permeability Tester based on the Gurley

method testing principle. Permeability refers to the average air flow rate per unit area of paper and cardboard under

specified conditions, expressed in micrometers per (pascal · second), per unit time and per unit pressure difference.
