Introduction to PTT-03 Thickness Tester

The uniformity of packaging material thickness is the basis for testing its various performance indicators. Uneven packaging

thickness can affect its barrier properties, tensile strength, and other properties; In addition, implementing high-precision

control of material thickness is also an important means to ensure product quality and control production costs.

The thickness gauge can also be called a thickness gauge, film thickness tester, film thickness gauge, paper thickness tester,

desktop thickness gauge, and so on. The thickness gauge series produced by Paratronix adopts mechanical contact

measurement method, which is professionally suitable for precise thickness measurement of various materials such

as plastic films, thin sheets, diaphragms, paper, foil, silicon wafers, etc. within the range.

In terms of testing principles, commonly used thickness gauges include laser thickness gauges, capacitive thickness

gauges, eddy current thickness gauges, mechanical testers, etc. Non contact thickness measuring equipment has a

certain degree of selectivity for testing samples. For example, laser thickness gauges can achieve high measurement

accuracy in suitable fields, but there will be significant testing errors when used to detect samples with different

glossiness on the surface. Similarly, the thickness gauge of this method also has strong selectivity for whether the

sample is transparent. Capacitive or eddy current thickness gauges have significant errors in testing metals and non

metals. In short, non-contact thickness measuring equipment has its own expertise in detection fields, but users cannot

purchase multiple types of thickness measuring equipment to detect various samples with different materials.

Mechanical thickness gauge is a contact type thickness measuring device that often uses high-precision sensors.

Because its testing is only related to small displacements, it has no selectivity for the sample. The testing accuracy of

mechanical thickness gauges mainly depends on the accuracy of displacement sensors. Environmental temperature

and wind speed can affect the accuracy of sensors, so they must be used in laboratory environments.
